- The Role of Transaction Management in
CORBA/ODB Integrated Systems' Performance
- Paper to be presented at the SAC'2000, ACM Symposium on Applied Computing
in Villa Olmo, Como, Italy
in March 19-21, 2000. In this article some techniques aimed to minimizing the
negative impact of transactions overhead on CORBA/ODB integrated system's performance
are described and evaluated.
- What CORBA/ODB integration technique
to choose: Adapter vs. Wrapper
- Paper presented at the OOPSLA'97 Workshop "Experiences
using Object Data Management" in Atlanta,
USA 5-9 October1997. In this article the evaluation of
two different programmatic techniques of Object Databases
integration with CORBA environment (Object Database
Adapter and Persistent Object Wrapping) is presented.
Some work has been conducted using Orbix2.2,
ObjectStore4.0 and Orbix+ObjectStoreAdapter2.1 (OOSA201).
The same IDL interface was implemented using the two
approaches and related measurements were performed. The
implementation issues, time and memory tradeoffs,
performance questions for each technique are described.
An attempt to present the situations each approach fits
the best is made.
